Smoke Detector

Fire Safety Tips

Fire Safety

Check your Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors

This is a great time for you to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

The Warwick Township Fire Company Station 66 wants you to know fire can grow and spread quickly, doubling in size every 30 seconds. Having working smoke alarms in your home can mean the difference between life and death. But these life-saving devices are only effective when they're working properly.

  • Test your smoke alarms once a month and replace them if older than 10 years old.
  • Once a smoke alarm sounds you may have as few as two minutes to escape.
  • Develop a fire escape plan and practice this drill regularly at different places within the home. Go to www.stayingalive.com for more information.

If you would like us to come out and test or change your batteries, please send an email to the fire company. We would be happy to help you with a fire escape plan.
